  1. RegisteredClubs says:

St. Teresa of the Andes was a Chilean saint who became a Carmelite to follow in the steps of our patron, St. Therese the Little Flower. She lived a joyful, but short life, and these maracas may be one of the things that made it brighter and happier.

To make these, you will need:

    plastic eggs
    duct tape
    scissors
    rice and beans
Start by cutting out the duct tape into different shapes for the girls.

And while you’re doing this, the girls can fill their eggs with rice and beans.

Then, have them tape the eggs closed on one side, and eventually cover the entire egg in different colors of tape.

When we were done with the craft, the girls marched around the room, shaking their maracas, while singing one of the songs from the Little Flowers Member’s Guide.

    Little Flowers singing

    Time: 30 minutes
Cost: about $7 for 20 eggs
    Ages: 3+

Conclusion: this was a really fun craft in which the girls learned more about the Saint’s culture and walked away with something fun to remember it by. Definitely recommend it for this Wreath IV lesson!
